bush had to repeatedly overide the joint chief in order to give petraeus what he needed in iraq during his last two years in office in order to get the job done correctly

If you care about the American soldiers who are stationing in Iraq and Afghanistan than you wouldn't want a dumb ass like Netanyahu to bomb Iran. Don't try to gamble with other peoples' lives. I'm sure behind closed doors, the Israeli government is thinking on how to keep America stationed in the Middle forever but bombing Iran might actually backfire on them.

Terrorists actually thrive when you start attacking them. They tend to gain more sympathizers when you start bombing the country they are in. They no longer become the local thugs but some kind of a spiritual leaders. Look at what's going on in Pakistan. If America sent in troops, you would have all of Pakistan attacking you but since America didn't, it gave the Pakistanis time to realize that the Taliban aren't as rational as they thought they were.
