He broke the rules to hide his sexuality, but he could have claimed more if he hadn't done that. I really don't think he was motivated by money. Anyway, just because he's a millionaire doesn't mean that he should have to pay significantly more than anyone else to become an MP (although he should be heavily taxed like all rich people). I feel really sorry for him. He's really talented as well... and he has hardly done anything wrong.

David Laws is an incredibly clever guy who sacrificed a lot to go into politics.

He wasn't "exposed" - he realised that he might have been unknowingly breaking the rules and announced it himself. The taxpayer lost nothing from his mistake, but he has said nevertheless that he will pay back all the money he spent on rent since 2004. And then he decided to resign. And then he referred himself for investigation. WHAT ELSE COULD HE HAVE DONE!?

Yes, the Telegraph was right for 'outing' this hypocrite.

But one has to wonder, how many more aces the Telegraph has up its sleeve. It appears to me that every time the Tory party steps out of line, the labour party gains more votes, or the lib-dems gain more power (?) the Telegraph will be there to manipulate matters back towards the right.
