@stufflymcstuff you describe compulsive gamblers perfectly as "selfish and irresponsible." but please realise that people can become addicted to gambling, just as they can alcohol or drugs. do you really beleive that compulsive gambling is a character flaw? "oh look, that man has gambled away his house, what a charcter flaw he has!" "dear oh dear, his wife has left him, what an awful character flaw he must have!"
i suggest than you do your research before making such flippant remarks
they seem to be focusing on poker...thats fuckin ridiculous. people get addicted to duster too, but for the majority of the population who can gamble responsibly and keep duster in the house for cleaning electronics without huffing it...those are the people who the casinos are for. people are so fuckin stupid.
A gambling problem isnt an addiction - it's a character flaw.
Most people who gamble recreationally would NEVER piss their families money away. While others will find all the excuses in the world to indulge in their hobby excessively.
It's insulting to hear a line up of old hags blame their reckless behavior on the 'addiction' as if it's some medical condition.
It can't "just happen" to anyone. It takes an especially selfish and irresponsible person to do it. They deserve zero sympathy.
I'm Vicki (the 3rd woman who lost $30,000 to gambling). I have been free from gambling for over 4 years now because of my recovery group. I have also lost over 40 pounds and have regained my energy and my life back. LIFE IS GOOD!!
you know people like this need to realize after losing a few hundred dollars that you need to learn to improve your game and not flush anymore into it
