STS-126 ENDEAVOUR Ferries to WARD KSC
Space shuttle Endeavour, mounted atop a NASA Shuttle Carrier Aircraft,
began its cross-country flight Wednesday morning from Edwards Air Force Base in California. Endeavour concluded its STS-126 shuttle mission on Nov. 30 with a landing at Edwards. The Ferry Flight will take Endeavour to Kennedy Space Center, Florida, where it will be prepared for its next mission, STS-127 in 2009.

I first saw something like this in a James Bond movie and didn't think much of it. After all Bond movies can be a lot of futuristic fantasy. Then I was shocked to see they actually do transport the shuttle like this. Quite amazing!
