For our school project we made a multi-point HID device on an OMAP5912 OSK board from Texas Instruments, which contains a ARM9 processor. We use the Wii remote as a infrared camera for detecting the infrared LEDs on the thumb and index finger.
On the OMAP we have installed a Linux system with a 2.6.24 kernel, and libraries like BlueZ and CWiid. We also wrote some own software on it for tracking the IR blobs and detecting a clicked state when thumb and index finger become close enough to each other. Even disappearance of blobs is taken care of. And after the processing of the infrared data, we calculate the differences in distance and send out two HID bluetooth mouses which can be received by any operating system supporting multiple mouses over bluetooth.
On the client PC we use a Linux install with MPX and a default GTK+ example with a photo album, because the client application was not part of our assignment.
