In 2007, Fucked Up had only been around for 5 years. During those first 5 years, Fucked Up had put out almost 30 releases, the bulk of which consisted of 7 inch singles. In many ways they are catering to the vinyl collectors but at the same time they are building an aesthetic that draws imagery and lyrical themes from leftist, anarchist, socialist, and situationist movements. Their sound has evolved from aggressive early 1980's hardcore to something more progressive and harder to define.
