At the Greensboro, North Carolina Women of Faith Conference 2009, Steven Curtis Chapman explained the family's difficulty in dealing with the loss of their youngest daughter, Maria Sue Chapman. In Part I of this video, Chapman explains the story that lead up to the idea for the "Cinderella" song, which he wrote before the accident that took little Maria's life. I couldn't get his entire story on video, but he explained that after Maria's death, he said that he would never be able to perform that song again. He went on to describe the healing power of God and the process of healing that his whole family is still going through. He later realized that he should sing the song, and keep singing it, as a means to hold onto the hope he found with God's help that he would be able to see his daughter again one day.

  • thanks for sharing that clip ,

i wish you kept the camera focused on him more ... it's a whole new experience ...

    thanks again,

    rudy.

  • @rudyhabib2 You're welcome, Rudy. Yeah, I wish I could have had two cameras going to capture SCC and the silhouette video they played simultaneously, but since we were sitting so far away from the stage and I couldn't get a good shot of SCC unless they showed him on the screen, I just recorded the screen. Otherwise you probably would have just been watching the top of his head. :) Glad you enjoyed it anyway

  • I just saw him this past weekend in Louisville,Ky at Women of Joy!

  • @mrsDEJr Cool! :) He's a really cool guy!
