Here's another remix, I took a typical 397 calorie dish and turned it into 141 calories per 1 cup serving with 18.3 g protein. Enjoy. Chicken Thigh, 6 thigh, bone and skin removed (2) Hillshire Farm Turkey Smoked Sausage Shrimp 2 lbs Chicken Broth, 4 cup Red Ripe Tomatoes, 3 cup, chopped Celery, raw, 3 stalk Yellow Peppers Red Pepper Green Pepper Onions, raw, 2 cup, chopped Garlic, 4 cloves Tomato Sauce or Soup, 1 can Spice Mix - 2 bay leaves, 1 tsp thyme, 1/2 tsp sage, 1 tsp gumbo file, 1 tsp cayenne pepper, 1 tsp red pepper flakes, 2 tsp salt or creole seaoning

  • @cabernetqueen Hmmm, I've gone back and forth with these recipe videos. I'll do better about adding the ingredients and directions to the description box :) I'm glad you enjoy the vids. I think this would be great at a party.

  • Yummm. My DH is from Louisiana...I will have to see what he thinks. In case anyone can't find file powder, you can use okra, if you can tolerate it (or if your band can tolerate it!) Just throw a handful in the pot and let them cook til very soft.

  • @deltalady27 You should be able to find it in most grocery stores if not in healthfood stores. I purchase mine at Trader Joe's. Remember to rinse it really well in a strainer before cooking. You can cook it with broth and added spices or just water. I use it in the place of rice, it's healthier and it's rich in protein. My 10 yr old like it in the morning as a hot cereal. She'll use plan quinoa with milk, splenda, cinnamon & vanilla. - Tamika
