BINGO! If one is against modernism "per se" then that spectator is definitely gonna have problems. Remember the fuss over Chereau's Ring in '76? Five years later it was already a classic. One has to differentiate between GOOD modern and BAD modern - just as one has to differentiate between good classical and bad classical. At the end it's only about good and bad. Modernistic or classical (excuse my generalistic terminology) cant be a criteria to judge whether something is done well, or not!
