How to install Day of the Tentacle specifically on mac os x, however if you make sure to use windows-compatible applications, pc users may play too.

You may launch DOTT using either the scumm engine or dosbox.
scumm users end at 7:10
dosbox users skip at 5:20 to 7:10 because those are instructions for scumm.

During gameplay, alt+enter to go fullscreen and fn+F5 to save

install Day of the Tentacle notes:

download a free client like utorrent that is appropriate for your OS

thepiratebay.org type day of the tentacle

choose "Day Of The Tentacle (CLASSIC)"

download

when it's done, unzip "Day of the Tentacle.rar"

you may download and use free client like zipeg to extract files and save in your day of the tentacle folder


scumm users:
download scumm engine freeware compatible with your OS

open external drive, add scumm application to your applications folder

click "add game" button, then choose your day of the tentacle folder

let it run in default settings and click OK

highlight day of the tentacle and click start.


dosbox users:
download dosbox, open external drive then drag the dosbox app inside there into your day of tentacle folder

note you can call folder anything (ie daytenta) but it must be eight characters or fewer

click on that dosbox app and type:
config -writeconfig dosbox.conf

close dosbox app and open "dosbox.conf" file

scroll to end and, IF you put Daytenta into a "dosgames" folder, type

mount c ~/dosgames
c:
cd daytenta
dott


OTHERWISE, if you left it in your downloads folder, try:

mount c ~/downloads
c:
cd daytenta
dott
