Long range shooting with a 7mm Remington Mag. The Gun was built by Hazer at Bison Barrels in Gillette, Wyoming. Targets were shot at 600, 865, and 1113 yards. All were first hit shots except the 1113 due to dual wind conditions and slight gusts. But the 3rd shot was a hit. It went through the mild steel gong that we has set up. The two gongs that were at 865 and 1113 were approx. 15"x15"

  • The ranges were verifies with a Swaro laser guide ranging from the targets to a large white pickup. Distances are correct. They have been used for many rifles at this range. Calibers from 22 to 338. I find it hard to be calculating flight time from a video but whatever, don't matter to me. I know what it is.

  • That must be about 3000 fps give or take.

  • @brianl890 3078 FPS. Chrono'd and drops verified out to 1100 yards

  • that's awesome velocity but any pressure signs on the cases? Berger recommend 66.4 grain max. I'd love to know if i can safely push them out with mine. I tried 66.4 and no flattened primers but accuracy went off a bit. What twist are you using?

  • @banjorogers The barrel is a 1:9 twist. Yeah the loads are on the hot side. Just starting to show pressure signs with slight ejector marks. I think that this gun just got a fast barrel. None of the other 7RMs I have done have had close to that velocity. Start your load low and work up. Its the only way to know if it will work in your rifle. Like 66 then go up half a grain till you start seeing pressure.

  • Nice shooting. I like my 7mm Mag too. Great shooting and flat for a long way. How did you adjust your scope to be that accurate at 3 distances?

  • @135yota The use of a bullet drop compensating turret and a Greybull Precision Scope.

  • Haha, listen to the "master sniper". T.O.F and report doesn't mean anything on a video.

Nice rig, and nice shooting! John Burns makes a nice stock. I'm also impressed you can push the 180 Bergs that fast. You can totally rule the roost with that rig.

  • Wha I said about 7 mm Rem. Mag is the best for Goat hunting every where.with 26" barrel.

  • I didnt c them post that theyre shooting 180gr.

Time of flight didnt seem to change much from 600 to 1100 and at 1100 at claimed muzzle speed time of flight shouldnt be faster than .37 seconds, even with the best ballistic coefficient....im callin BS on this vid...sry guys, my 18 yrs as a master sniper tell me your range estimations are completely off the wall.

  • are you using a boat tail bullet

  • what is the scope you have on it thanks

  • Very cool...thanks for the vid! As a beginner, I can appreciate what you are doing!

  • Good shooting.

  • @1969camaro427cid Start with new brass yeah?

  • Feels good hitting steel. :)
