This video was taken 31 December 1983 at Delta Way, Cannock and shows newly-acquired Bendibuses at Midland Red North - drivers trying them out for the first time.
These buses weighed 13 tons so were not very fuel efficient. Modern articulated buses are even worse at 16 tons unladen. Most bus operators have avoided articulated buses as the high fuel costs and extra garage parking space required affect the econcomics of these vehicles.

  • OMG, that is Longford road. 10 minute walk from where I live!.

    Its nice to see what it was like 26 years ago. This was filmed in Dec 1983. I have lived here since April 1983 since I was 3 so i grew up knowing the area. Lot has changed since then! Luv to go back in time to that era again lol
