Pamela Boyd

Pamela Boyd was born and raised in Atlanta, Ga., and received a Bachelor of Science in elementary education, a Master of Education in elementary education with an emphasis in Reading Difficulties, and a Certification in Gifted Education from Georgia State University. She received a doctorate in curriculum and teaching from Mississippi State University. An associate professor of curriculum and teaching and faculty member for 14 years, she teaches undergraduate and graduate students in the College of Education. Her teaching, research and outreach focus is "school/university partnerships" to reform education at all levels. Making the work of the university relevant in the public school classroom and the work in the public school classroom relevant to the university is her priority. Boyd has published work in prominent professional journals such as Action in Teacher Education and the Journal of Teacher Education. She is the recipient of various professional awards including Camp War Eagle Outstanding Faculty Honoree, Auburn University Panhellenic Council Outstanding Professor, Outstanding Undergraduate Faculty Member, Mortar Board Favorite Educator Award and the Glomerata Outstanding Faculty Member of the Year in 1994. She also received the Emily and Gerald Leischuck Outstanding Undergraduate Teaching Award in 2001 for the College of Education. Her husband, Frank Boyd, is Alabama's State Wildlife Biologist. They have two children, Brian and Katie, who are both graduates of Auburn University.
I believe that a teacher has to LOVE students and accept them before she can teach them. Why would any teacher be in this profession if she didn't think students could learn?
