Im Japanese,but i have not ever eat these food insted of nattou(なっとう). I think this is okinawa food. In japan,food menu is a little different from each city.

I lived in japan for four years and that is pretty accurate. When I would visit my friends in Osaka, the mom would always make miso soup, rice, fish, and vegetables. Can't complain about that kind of start to a day!!!

It's true... While Asian diets are overall quite healthy, they tend to have a disproportionate number of gastro-intestinal cancers. It's supposedly due to the much higher amount of pickled foods in the diet.
Personally, I dig the breakfast quite a bit, but probably because I'm half Japanese myself ;)

Wow, did you just get out of your first college class on sociology and learn about ethnocentricism? Congratulations!
I did eat it all. I did enjoy it all. And I personally think a lot of western food is disgusting myself.
Now go on to your Women's Studies class and learn whether manga of school girls having sex with demons are sexist or not.
