Ironic that I found this clip while sorting my videos yesterday. This is an excerpt from an old Michigan Replay episode from 1989, Bo's final season. Interviews with players on defense including Lloyd Carr who was defensive coordinator at the time.

carr was such a great coach, im praying that harbaugh comes to mich next season. its a tradition that michigan has a michigan man as their coach. rich rod may have been great in the big east, but in bigten we play fundamental football, not some fancy b/s 3-3-5 scheme.

Now what? No Harbaugh,now RR is gone and the biggest name out there has shown NO INTEREST at all.Mich is too cheap to pay Miles and Brady hoke has done nothing to prove he can handle the big stage.he could not beat Byu,Tcu,and Utah which are the better schools in that conference.You hire him,and fan base will still be devided on that hire.Not looking good,especially when u try and get Pat Fitzgerald to leave his own school,wtf would he do that??!!!! Is that the best we can do? C'MON MAN!!!

RR scheme can work in the big ten,but he under estimated the big ten when it comes to being physical.Look at Aub,they run the spread but they have big physical bodies that it takes to rule with the big dogs,receivers 6'2,210 Cam Newton 6'6 250 etc.And the Defense...well that will do u in on any team.Big time players want to be in a cover 2 scheme or 4-3 base maybe 4-2-5 like TCU runs,not no damn 3-3-5.Ur db's have to basically be lb's and have tenacious tackling skill.Change the culture on D!!

I like RR, but this was not the right fit. I also think he shot himself in the foot with Greg Robinson. I think everyone thought that would be a good hire. I think the kicking thing will work itself out next year, but who is going to play defense next year. None of those recruits are good enough to step in and be serviceable. I honestly think Brandon wanted to bring him back to some degree, but the bowl game will make it hard to do. You can not loose every game by 20 plus points....
