I watch SVU regularly and I don't really see a heavy political sway one way or the other. Whenever a debatable situation is presented, different characters represent different views on the argument. Like the particular quote shown in this clip, it is clear that what that guy was saying was his opinion only. Det. Finn clearly disagreed.
