i have this god damn vitiligo too. I got it from my mother. She is all white. My skin is pretty dark, so every spot is very noticable. But fuck that shit. I don't have friends and people who would suport me, but i'm not hiding this shit. I suffered so much, that i don't care what one or other person may think about me. They are nothing to me. I just live in my small private world.

It's because the media benefitted financially from keeping the coverage of Michael Jackson sensational and negative. Also, some people in the music industry benefitted because it helped give them more an opportunity to advance their own careers. Money is what ultimately drove a lot of Michael Jackson's negative press because he had gotten too big for them and he was an easy target.

i've had vitiligo since i was 6. im 17, it covers 20% of my body and it is really hard to deal with. im hispanic so it isn't as noticable as it is in african americans. there is a cure! mines use to be way worse until i lived in puerto rico for 3 months. i went to the ocean and swam every day. i stood in the sun and it somehow reversed. now it's going away slowly. same thing with my dad. he use to have it too and he was the one who told me to swim and stay in the sun. it really works!

What bothers me is this idea that being black or white is purely in the color of your skin. I've seen an albino woman of African decent, and she was still visibly of African decent. I've seen people who were of mixed heritage and paler than me, but their heritage was clear. You are what your ancestors were no matter what color your skin is.

It is fascinating this way of talking about Michael Jackson as if he was lying all the time. Why should he lie! He said again and again that he had vitiligo - and they just wouldn't believe him. Strange.
