Video clip of pedestrians with right of way at the most intense ped crossing moment caught during two hours of video 2pm-4pm Friday, March 27, Clearwater, Florida, during spring break. Note pedestrians do not impede traffic flow as a) vehicles move on once the pedestrian exits the vehicle's lane and b) the opposite lane of vehicles continue to move until the pedestrian is ready to cross there - opposite a signalized intersection that stops traffic BOTH ways for pedestrian crossing (even if no pedestrian is there to cross). Volume count this day in excess of 40,000 vehicles, over 3,000 vehicles per hour during the video. Without right turn slip lanes, Clearwater in season moves through 59,000 vehicles per day and 6,000 pedestrians - highest volumes in the USA. This video demos how modern roundabouts are self-regulating by the users of the roundabout at the moment -- opposite a signalized intersection with lights timed sometime before the moment.
