Very good strategy game with rich scenario, addictive gameplay and huge variety. The good thing is that users can make their own scenario downloadable to others so the game doesn't actually end. And all that for free...

Yes, the graphics have improved very much since this video was created. Version 1.9.12 is very nice. This is one of the most addictive games I've ever played, along with Heroes of Might and Magic 3.

@ConFounDz I bought it and I think it was kinda a waste of money, its just a super cramped attempt of an exact port of the original. I don't see how it is better.

It's even better than freeware, it's Free software. The difference is that for Free software, you have the right to change, modify, add to, and share any aspect of the game with anybody else. We like to think that's part of the appeal - it attracts people with programming, literary, gaming, and artistic talent who are pleasantly surprised to discover they can become part of the game... not just play it.
