I really do not like how the news cut him off. This is very important information. I suppose in his book he probably mentions how watching this news is traumatic to people.
As a parent of two, now adult children, these types of tools have been a part of our family development. We used to call them step talks, where I would sit with them to talk about their fear and challenges, on our stairs that led to their upstairs bedrooms of retreat and rest. I don't know if there is any way to measure what works and doesn't, however this method had served us well at those stressful times.
It's sad that the news guy doesn't get it. SE deserves better press.

It's a good start. There's more to say about his topic.
Peter does bring forth some practical and common wisdom about trauma and the need for self care, self-regulation and resiliency.
