@DocHellfish >> It got pushed around to different time slots over the two years it was on, but it also got unfair comparisons to MASH and when audiences realized it wasn't the same show, they quit watching. It's not as good as MASH, but it had its own thing going, which I thought was good. Harry Morgan and Jamie Farr were still excellent to watch.

@the1997beast Agreed, but then why not just keep MASH going another season? Alan Alda, who had pretty much taken over with writing and directing by the last season, wanted to end it while the series was still strong. He had seen TV series dragged out and lose their quality, along with their fans' support and he didn't want that to happen MASH. If your interested in Alan Alda, go to the library and check out his first book "Never Have Your Dog Stuffed: And Other Things I've Learned". It's good :)
