What is REALLY happening is:
There is a temperature cycle that belongs to the Earth. It Rises then falls, rises then falls staying in roundabout the same area. Then it rises dramatically, and drops dramatically again. then it Rises then falls, Rises then falls staying in ...like that.
But we are making it worse by burning fossil fuels too much and heating up the earths atmosphere. So by recycling, opening curtains instead of turning on lights and shutting off the heat and wearing a jumper

During the middles ages the earth was warmer that it is now.
Google viking settlements in Iceland.

@SaltineCrackaAss In Europe from 2009 is colder than usually.

@alex568plank Not true. If this was a natural cycle, days would warm faster than nights, summers faster than winters, the equator faster than the poles. In fact, the reverse is true. Thats the signature of greenhouse gas emissions being responsible. The warming over the past 40 years has been established to be unrelated to the sun (which has been stable/cooling since 1970) - but it matches very well with CO2 atmospheric increases. + Absorption signature of CO2 has been detected by satelites.

wow, i need to connect to your sattelites for check that and see by my self to feel that expereience...
could you give me a job with you ?
i want to live where the ice is

All of these global warming advocates predict doom for the planet in the next 5 to 10 years and the idiots can't even give a decent weather forcast for the next 3 weeks!! Where I live, we have had more snow in October than we are supposed to get all winter and it isn't even winter!! And it was the coolest summer in a 100 years. Remember, we are still in the warming period after the last ice age. There is warming but it is just part of the natural cycle of the climate.

"The most recent period when CO2 levels were as high as today was around 15 million years ago, during the Middle Miocene. CO2 levels were at about 400 ppm.
"What was the climate like at the time? Global temperatures were 5 to 10 degrees Fahrenheit higher than they are today.
"Sea level was approximately 75 to 120 feet higher. There was no permanent sea ice cap in the Arctic and very little ice on Antarctica and Greenland. "

can i ask do u think when the floods come will live throw it
"So why cant you show us real time pictures I mean we have satellite's that must have been recording this over the years. or do we?this is fake

Please see the response above. This is a data-visualization, meaning that the computer scientists we work with take all of the 1's and 0's in binary code from the satellites and process them to create visual images. In this particular case, the AMSR-E instrument used microwaves to determine what is ice and what is open ocean over time, in a much more accurate way than photos could ever show.

Why is it that these depictions of the ice melting are not true sat footage, but they are computer animated footage?

Satellites don't generally collect "footage" per say, so we have data visualizers who specialize in working with scientists and translating the true satellite data into a video sequence. So what you're seeing here is not an artist's rendition, but is in fact actual satellite data. Our group that did this is the "Scientific Visualization Studio" and you can read and see more about them/by them if you google for their web site.
