@levihillphoto Well, I I don't know what CFI/FI means, but most yuoutube folks who visit these kind of videos are Sim flyers too. Just might get lucky!

I need some help. The heading indicator, for some reason, always returns to 340 deg. When using Autopilot, I can't get it to read the direction I want. What is wrong? I eventually can get it headed the direction I want, but it's just a guess.

Thanks for writing in, sixstringfretter. I've heard this question more often than you'd guess and, I'm afraid, there's no straight answer. In this situation, my recommendation–before smashing the HI glass or sticking your tongue on the vacuum pump inlet—is that you set your heading indicator to match your magnetic compass and then fly a heading other than 340 degrees. More often than not, following these steps will result in the heading indicator indicating your magnetic heading.
