I was lucky enough to meet Hank a couple of times when he played in Ireland, he was a great guy to talk to. He signed one of his LP's for me on the last occasion. He is greatly missed!

Thanks for this post. Classic country at it's best! I had to subscribe.

I can remember shows like this being on local TV back in the late 50's -- early 60's...didn't want to watch it then....Thank goodness for You Tube so I can see it today.

I actually was lucky enough to see Hank Locklin at the Grand Ole Opry at the Ryman back in the early 70's. Thanks for posting this memory!

Great music and great video quality, especially condering the age of these recordings.

Funny...I never heard that before....too bad music nowadays will never be as good as this....

@DarkJosh99 Yeah this music is really relaxing and u can tell that it was created during a time when "Love was truly Love" being expressed in a song lyric.

This song is so beautiful and Hank Locklin is nothing short of awesome. This song must have been around forever after Hank recorded it because it was one of the greatest ever written. I think he has cut it short here but it's still the best. It think it has joined the list of the greatest country love songs of all time. Thank you for posting this. Mambo

The gentleman in the bib overalls is comic Lonnie "Pap" Wilson, who was an off and on member of Roy Acuff"s Smoky Mountain Boys. He recorded an album for Starday back in '63 entitled 'The Playboy Farmer,' which states: "Jokes, Laffs, Songs and Gags About the Funny Side of Life." Wilson is featured with Jimmy Riddle and bassist Joe Zinkan in a YouTube video entitled "The Classical." (Smoky Mountain Boys)
I love how there are no dislikes on this video, and there's a whole bunch on Lady Gaga's videos..

@karlylovespurple That's because the people who watch this video, probably searched for it intentionally. Lady Gaga videos pop up pretty randomly on YouTube.

@hiway7boy The guitar player is a guy named Jerry Shook. Jerry Byrd is on bass and Sonny Burnette is playing acoustic. Pete Drake is on steel.

@Gatorrock787 "So you mean Pete Drake is lead-guitar, because there isn't one??"

@Grifiki Jerry Shook is playing lead guitar at :24 - not sure what you mean about Pete Drake. He's playing steel... I have that on good authority. He's not on camera.
