@graciehunterII i think the foo fighter and the black keys would disagree with you

Whilst viewing this I also have a documentary on punk rock [on TV]. How does one ever reconcile the 2 approaches to rock? This has defeated me for the last few decades.... Trying to see both sides has driven me to a strange point. Instinctively I am drawn to prog etc, but some folk can only countenance punk... how can this situation co-exist?

They were so fucking good at the time.... I was in late my teens and I was awestruck then and I still am. I'll never tire of them, never.

Stuff of greatness!
In one approx. eight-month period from late 73 to mid 74 I saw Yes (Topographic Oceans), Emerson, Lake & Palmer (Brain Salad Surgery), Gentle Giant (Glass House, Octopus), Jethro Tull (Passion Play) and The Mahavishnu Orchestra (Birds of FIre, Between Nothingness & Eternity).
All those bands.
Live.
At the height of their powers.
Any questions why I cannot take Skrillex seriously?

@MrJonmonter Indeed. And the musicians present onstage were actually playing the notes on real musical instruments in real time. Unheard of today. Perhaps someday this custom might return.
