But i got a question.

I have seen some videos showing that when pouring the wine, the base of the wine bottle is in contact with the palm but in your video you just grab the wine bottle at the bottom.

Which way is the correct way or both ways are acceptable?

I'm working in a hotel and trying my best to learn as much as possible.Thanks!

@lauzhehao . Excellent question! I should have mentioned that in the video. Holding the bottle by the bottom is a very elegant way to serve the wine, however very insecure, especially for the Champagne bottles. I've tried that at one test and almost failed it! According to the Court, the bottle have to be held as I do in the video, which is the most secure way, in case someone knocks your hand, with the label facing the customer.

I have viewed several videos and am in the industry . . . I found this one to be the most basic yet sophisticated. Thank you for posting it . . . Much of it I knew, but there were a couple of things that solidified my understanding.

I am a restaruante manager and this is the video I am going to show my servers to train them in opening a bottle of wine. This is the correct way to open wine at the table. This is the best video I have seen on this process.

some pointers for the people that wants learn how t open a bottle of wine.

1. when you break the seal/foil of the bottle you should also wipe the rim of the bottle with a napkin

2, never touch the cork ith bare hads

3. describe the bottle being served. vintage, name of the wine and possibly the vinyard

Hi Harry. Thanks for your video. Isn't using a serviette to wipe the top of the cork after removing the foil, and again after removing the cork, part of proper wine service? If so, I am curious how to do this without having to set the bottle down on the table first. Also, are you pouring with your left hand?
