  • I am delighted that one of our British Cousins has chimed in on the subject of personal freedom and intrusive government. The courageous Daniel Hannan is fast becoming a hero among libertarians here in the U.S. If you get the chance please dial up Real Time with Bill Maher from June 19, 2009 and look for the segment about with tax payer funded health care with Katty Kay. I would enjoy your reply. Be warned, the dialogue on Real Time will make you cringe

  • I'm from Britain and I wish I had your problems! The final point they were talking about struck me most - controlling the airwaves and what the people hear/see. In Britain we have a regulator of the TV/radio etc, called Ofcom, which essentially is the (un)Fairness Doctrine. I've become so sick of having to put up with the 100% left wing bias here that I've turned to America for the news. Thank goodness for the internet.

  • God bless the Judge. He knows his stuff, and he stands for all that freedom-lovers believe. I love how he articulates his position...man I love Wednesdays.

  • First they "protect" homosexuals and transgendered people, then they expand their thought crimes laws. The original income tax was extremely low, less than 3%. Then it grew. This too, will grow. We're heading towards Orwell's 1984...

  • His honor, with his absolutely precise judicious wisdom is correct. There is no such thing as "hate speech". Hate speech is merely a crime against the State in a similar way that victimless crimes like prostitution or gambling are. If there is an assault against an individual, criminal trespass or destruction of another's property, there are specific laws intended to assist a victim in acquiring justice. The government need only prosecute the actual crime and not the thought behind it.
