It's a comfort to know there are still some great poets out there (like Tom Russell). The horns give this song a Mexican flavor (considering it's about Africa). Paul's keyboards give this live version a reverent tone. What lyrics! This is a truly marvelous song that I rediscovered the weekend before Christmas 2011. A Happy and Hopeful 2012 to all.

I know Thad Beckman as well - just spent New Years Eve with him and a couple of friends. We picked some songs - I was actually playing the guitar you see in this video. He's a great player, and a great guy!
