Judas Priest are an English heavy metal band from Birmingham, formed in 1969. Judas Priest's core line-up consists of bass player Ian Hill, vocalist Rob Halford and guitarists Glenn Tipton and K. K. Downing. The band has gone through several drummers, though Scott Travis has held the position since 1989. They have been cited as an influence on many heavy metal musicians and bands. Their popularity and status as one of the definitive heavy metal bands has earned them the nickname "Metal Gods" from their song of the same name. They have sold over 35 million albums worldwide.

(Epitaph)

The old man's sitting there, his head bowed down
Every now and then he'll take a look around
And his eyes reflect the memory-pain of years gone by
He can't regain nostalgic dreams he'll never see again

With trembling hands, he wipes a tear
Many fall like rain, there's one for every year
And his life laid out so clearly now, life that's brought death
So nearly now life once he clung to dearly lets go

But spare a thought as you pass him by
Take a closer look and you'll say
He's our tomorrow, just as much as we are his yesterday

A lonely grave, and soon forgot
Only wind and leaves lament his mournful song
Yet they shout his epitaph out clear
For anyone who's passing near
It names the person lying here as you
And you...and you...and you...

(Island of Domination)

Beware of their coming
Take heed our time is near
Fatality relinguish not
Brutality in arms doth seek to destroy.

They smashed through the clouds into the light of the moon
Their steeds were full charging, called destruction and doom
'Twas as if all hell had broke loose on this night
And all in all it was a terrible sight

Now we are taken unto the island of domination

We gotta get, we gotta get, we gotta get out of this place
There's a man with a needle who's pleading to get at my face
Hide me and hold me control free as best as you can
It's all becoming too much, I can't cope, for one man

Now we are taken unto the island of domination

Skyrider supersonic flyer
Nightdriver demon of desire
Spinesnapper tried your best to break us
Throatchoker thought that you could take us

The fright of your life, the fright of your life
The fright of your life is here guaranteed
This is no illusion confessing confusion you're freed
Lashings of strappings with beatings competing to win
Oh what a mess I am blessed, dominations set in

Now we are taken unto the island of domination...

  • Rob uses his voice kinda goofy in a few parts of Island of Domination, but it is still a very bad ASS song! I love their songwritting on their older stuff!

  • Killer, I picture this funeral all the time in my mind. Thanks for putting the whole album up.

  • @OggyisCool U mad?

  • Mercury aint got shit on Halford

  • Sorry, just gotta say, this is simply one of those under rated MASTERPIECES OF HARD ROCK HISTORY. Not just the music. The themes are of such a serious nature. Im sorry, but Rob knew a thing or two about the difference between strong character and being a sucker. New about what being a REAL rebel meant. Unlike these tatoed pierced pretend badasses that live with thier mommy and shit. LOL. Damn, Priest kicked metal ass.

  • @chucke1963 Love the Growwwwwllllllll.....

  • to finish ,,my last post ill put it here,,hawkwind was an early 70s space metal band with lemmy before he formed motorhead, and wishbone ash helped to make the twin guitar a part of hard rock and heavy metal,,then you have UFO who judas priest was heavily influenced by in the early days,as a matter of fact if you listen to queen of the deep by UFO from 1974 you can hear the influence it had on run of the mill by priest also in 74,,try the bands budgie and black widow and amon dull II

  • its too hard for anybody to say who the true first metal band is,considering it was a form of music many people in late 60s early 70s england wanted from the start, everybody had a sample of metal even before metal was metal for instance the beatles helter skelter was pure metal so was the sonics version of louie louie, sounded almost more metal than motorheads version,we also can not forget about lucifers friend in 1970,along with led zeppelins immigrant song

  • @rattlehead1999 didn't you post that same thing on another song off this album?

  • Black Sabbath is Not the true first heavy metal band. Judas Priest is. Led and Sabbath were both totally steeped in 60's blues/jam songs to be true metal. Sure, Sabbath had the first metal Tone. But Priest had Everything we consider metal today, back during this album, written during 1972-73. Twin guitars, harmonies, not much in the way of blues scales, well thought out compositions (not jams), lightning fast solos, high vocals, galloping riffs, its all there. Think about it!!
