I attended the Lacey Washington Electric Grand Prix Race & Alternative Energy Fair on May 7. It was a lot of fun talking with and seeing so many like minded people in one place. What impressed me the most was the electric cars they raced. Most were built by high school kids and few college students. The racers had to complete as many laps as possible in one hour. The winner complete 46 laps in one hour. That is almost 50 miles with just two optima yellow tops with speed reaching 35 mile per hour on the straightaways. Despite the rain and wind every one had a good time.
