Dear Friends,
Earlier this week, I teamed up with SA 2020 CEO Darryl Byrd and state Rep. Mike Villarreal to announce an education call to service that supports the bold SA 2020 goals set by thousands of San Antonians just like you. This school year, we'll deploy more than 1,500 new volunteers to read to 2nd graders, mentor middle school students to inspire and prepare them for college, and help students fill out their financial aid paperwork.
We have a simple, yet powerful, goal in mind: to transform San Antonio into the most vibrant brainpower community in our nation.
Please consider investing your time to mentor a child and to help us reach the goals we set as a community. Please visit SA2020.org for more information. Click on "answer the call" and be sure to scroll down for the volunteer application.

Good goals, kinda like "It takes a Village" but where is the emphasis on "Parenting." That's where we as a community have failed - too many people having kids they are not ready to bring him up. Kids having kids. Put the emphasis on the persons creating the problems that you have addressed (except the finnancial aid forms).
