  • Thanks for your channel!

Mr. Pirsig is best known for the book you cite, but his 2nd book LILA is the greatest achievement of his mystic philosophy.

  • I sat besides him at a restaurant one day. I think it was him and I think he was researching Lila (1988/89). He was anxious and passionate and smart beyond belief. As a college student I knew only a little - enough to ask questions but not enough to understand the answers.

When it was time to go I extended my hand and introduced myself, after the fact. "What's your name?" I asked.

    "Bob" he said.

    "Bob who?"

    "Just Bob," he said sharply.

  • My only living hero, all the others (Kubrick, A.C. Clarke, Steve Jobs) passed away. Stay with me some more time.

  • "There is Lila, this single private person who slept beside him now, who was born and now lived and tossed in her dreams will soon enough die and then there is someone else - call her lila - who is immortal, who inhabits Lila for a while and then moves on." I think Lila is his greatest too :)

  • @WillShakespeare2007 That quote is missing in this video and thats why I give unlike to this vid. Thanx for putting it here so I give you thumb up :)

  • @timothychizmar A bible is contradictory to an acceptance that knowledge is dynamic. Thus, a bible is contradictory to zen.

  • Thanks for posting. I've rediscovered Lila and I can't believe how amazing a book it is.

  • "When one person suffers from a delusion it is called insanity; when many people suffer from a delusion it is called religion." - Robert Pirsig (1948-)
