The good ol' boys confer and the children commentate as 4965 Rood Ashton Hall clanks through Bicester with the Chiltern Steam Express of May 2007. 50049 Defiance tags along behind. The real revelation for me on the day was when I visited one of my old haunts - Brill Tunnel - here was a bit of railway that's come up in the world. In the early 1980s it was a singled line with a comparatively limited service - now it's pretty busy and - lo and behold - a steam train bursts into sight - talk about turning the clock back.
@lokoiutfftty Because, unlike Ireland, We can''t afford a delay because of a broken down steam loco during the week day period.
