  • Human nature being what it is, I am sure there are feelings of competition among wives regarding the number of children born. This competition was never open or discussed.

  • I am no longer Mormon. I cannot imagine what it would be like to be sick and such a "moral failure" in the fundamentalist groups, such as the childhood you experienced! I honor you and bless you in your healing journey.

  • I grew up in the "mainstream" Mormon Church--and there is also an ethic and expectation (as I experienced it) in THAT branch of Mormonism that one will work herself to death. There is no sense of balance and rest. I have disabling illnesses at this point in my life, and the sense that I get from the Mormons with whom I still interact is that they view my illness (and resulting "lack of work") as a moral failure--rather than illness. The guilt of this "moral failure" is still heavy--even tough

  • I just visited your home channel page and noted that you have six children. I bet that after having grown up with 45 siblings, that six children must be pretty small for you! :-)

  • "I personally don't think that the Brown family represents the vast majority of practicing polygamists today." I think that's the reason why they got a reality show...

  • Well they are actually part of what is called the "AUB" and I can tell you most of them look very normal and dress in modern clothes and do normal things.

  • How do you feel about the roles of men and women in pologamous relationships? How do you feel as a woman who grew up in that environment? My video is how I feel looking from the ouside in but I want to know how you truly feel.

  • There are different Mormon Fundimentaliist Groups. Study the priesthood succession after Joseph Smith's Murder and see how each broke off from the Church. There are Independent FLDS families too.

The Brown look like a "normal" family in the group they belong to (The second LARGEST Mormon Fund. Group (AUB / "Allred Group"). The show does sadly avoid speaking about Their faith, which is good for TV, but bad for showing the truth.

There ARE good healthy Plural Families...Sorry you disagree.

  • You offer courageous comments of contrast regarding the archetype of pologamy.

  • Wouldn't you distinguish a difference between more modern polygamist families like the Brown's and fundamentalist FLDS practitioners that are more akin to a cult?
