Featured speakers have included Al Gore on climate change, Philippe Starck on design, Jill Bolte Taylor on observing her own stroke, Nicholas Negroponte on One Laptop per Child, Jane Goodall on chimpanzees, Bill Gates on malaria and mosquitoes, Pattie Maes on the "Sixth Sense" wearable tech, and "Lost" producer JJ Abrams on the allure of mystery. TED stands for Technology, Entertainment, Design, and TEDTalks cover these topics as well as science, business, development and the arts. Closed captions and translated subtitles in a variety of languages are now available on TED.com, at http://www.ted.com/translate. • agreed the pennandteller one blew my mind & im a big fan of penn :D

  • These TED video's are becomming a little too casual with not enough content if you ask me.

This video in particular seemed more like simple self-promotion.

It didn't 'wow' me anywhere. Not a single bit of data that's interesting enough to be worth sharing.

  • Pretty awesome stuff. I bet it wasn't easy to come up with all that given any time frame...I know I couldn't. Really appreciate this guy getting into it

  • let's get rid of the people spreading this propaganda

  • Dr. House could rock this shit

  • I'm fairly certain that bejeweled is not healthy for the brain.

  • Have admired Kim's work for over two decades - since I first saw samples of his work in an early OMNI magazine. GEB featured some of his work, too, IIRC. Just wiki'd him - never realized he studied under one of The Masters (Knuth).

  • Anyone know what website or software he is using at 5:50?

  • haha, I thought TED wasn't supposed to have people advertise/sell their own stuff during talks?

Anyway, I too have been an addict for the mental work out games recently. I'm currently mostly focusing on the game IQ Boost on my iTouch, which is the Dual-n-Back game for those familiar with it... Pretty killer.

  • I have always had an interest in puzzles and problem-solving, so really enjoyed this talk, thanks for sharing.

  • Thank you for sharing.

  • not impressed by the railroad "re-invention"....
