My Junior High is doing this play.. I'm doing Helen Keller and we were practicing this scene today.. It's so much fun, but it's very difficult! But I love it! :) this show is going to be a big challenge.

WAIT. so patty duke played as the hellen in this movie, and then in the other movie with Mellisa Gilbert ( from little house on the prairie), she plays as the Teacher in the same movie? o_O

it's amazing when you think that anne sullivan was 19 years old and nearly blind when this took place....
this film always made me cry. I almost never cry at films, but films like this...they just don't have scenes like this anymore. No dialogue. No music telling you how to feel, just raw emotion.

Without language, our students are all, to one degree or another, like Helen Keller. That is why we need teachers like Annie Sullivan who do not choose the path of least resistance. They teach.
