Several years ago Bloomberg tried to add tolls to the Brooklyn Bridge and all the other East River crossings. It was immediately shot down. Congestion pricing is a rear entry attempt to revive those tolls. Bloomberg hates it when his "employees" - meaning The People - don't obey him.

So buckrogers20 sounds like a car driver? Typical attack on a person's motives when you have nothing to make your case with. I see you freezur have a soft spot for critical mass. Too bad the NYPD hasn't defended its arrest & ticketing during CM rides by pointing out how they make a lot of noise and deliberately disturb the peace. And it does not take a lot of YouTube searching to see them brag about disrupting traffic. Peaceful bike riders? Hah! Like Ghandi loves hamburgers.

Sharply limit their numbers, perhaps. I'd start by banning stretch limousines and requiring all for-hire cars to be painted yellow. (tired of looking at those bloated Town Cars all day) Then I would reduce the size of the taxi fleet substantially. That should come in tandem with congestion pricing for private autos, however. Why is it that I get the sense you are a car commuter buckrogers20?

Yes he is a fascist! I don't understand why people elect these elitists. NYC is being turned into an American version of Singapore and it is disgusting. I've lived here all my life and I can tell you that the quality of life has decreased rather than increased as a result of Bloomberg's administration.

Oh please! I've seen Bloomberg zip around in his limousine so don't lecture me. And his use of a helicopter and jet is indeed hypocritical.

If you really want to cut down on congestion and pollution then ban Taxi cabs and Limousines which are really the major cause of congestion in the city!

Limousine liberals? Most of the advocates working on congestion pricing are everyday public transit users and cyclists. I ride my bike just about everywhere, rain or shine, July or January. Mayor Bloomberg may have to reconsider the hypocritical jet and helicopter use, but he COMMUTES TO CITY HALL ON THE SUBWAY, so I think he's setting a fairly good example right there. The deputy mayor and DOT director often cycle to work.

Limos?!? Bloomberg flies a private jet and helicopter! Talk about a carbon foot print. Did you know that he flew a helicopter from Staten Island to the Bronx just for the Borough President's swearing in? I agree withyou, but please, Bloomberg is not a liberal of any sort. He is a business minded fascist. When will people stop electing the mega-rich?

Another attempt by elitist limousine liberals to take away more of our rights while retaining their own.  Fatcat Mike Bloomberg will be exempt from these regulations as he rolls around in his limo's while the middle and working class of New York pays the price.

Folks, this is just an exploitation of the global warming issue so that NYC Mayor Bloomberg can ram through a land grab for private developers. He does not mention that in this ad,does he? The plan includes BILLIONS to developers and land give aways for the Real Estate Board of New York.
