In the 70's and 80's it was graffiti. In the 90's and early 2000's it was scratchiti and acid etching. Now, in the late 2000's, we have advertiti. I'm talking about advertisements on the sides of trains. It was cool when the TA first put the little band of advertising around the R62's on the Times Square shuttle. Then, they went crazy and decided to bomb the train and put the each car in an entire wrap, both inside and out. Now, they are getting particular....windows. and not of every car, either. Here, at 59th Street Columbus Circle, we see a downtown A Train with 2 of the rear 4 cars covered with Coca Cola ads, but only on the windows. I guess it makes everything look red if you look out the windows. Looking in from the platform, it looks slightly odd. Tell me what you think. If you have any questions about the video, feel free to message me. Comments are welcome. The video was taken on December 4th, 2008.

  • YES, the subway cars looked so much better with graffiti art on them. I wasn't born in the 70's or 80's but I know they must have looked 100x better than they look now.

  • coke sweeps NYC again..

  • More targets to tag over

  • Ya Know, They COVERED The 42 St Shuttle With Ad.

  • Anything that gets the MTA more money is good IMO... as long as it isn't more of my tax dollars.

  • @Izakokomarixyz graffiti gave the city a more city spirit lol

  • That shits beat.... Its just those brainwashing republican government official muther fuckers! Fuuuck em... If i lived in ny ...( live in nj) i wood b writing on trains still... Bak then the trains wer basically moving museums!!! U payed a lil fare to ride in a shuttle of art

  • I get putting those ads on the where the stripes used to be, but covering the windows...

...it's like being inside of the car is being trapped.

  • @Izakokomarixyz it never died my freind

  • @slicingwater many of the subways from back then wasnt JUST graffiti that ppl just scratched on to the cars to destroy them. Alot of the graffiti was actually REAL ARTand it looked nice. i grew up in the 80s and i remember as a young boy, riding graffiti trains. i'm assuming that u didnt grow up during that era which is why its hard for u to understand why i liked the graffiti trains. If it was up to me, i'd bring them back and get rid of the new pieces of shit they have now. they're boring
