In April of 2011, SETI announced that due to budgetary constraints their radio telescope array would be set into hibernation mode. This is video is unofficially produced on SETI's behalf by Reid Gower, with the aim of starting a grassroots movement to reinvigorate funding for the SETI program.

Carl Sagan suddenly woke from a slumber of 13.7 billion years, and 15 years ago forever returned to that sleep. He found him self in a world filled with hate, intolerance, ignorance and death. I wish i could be born in the future, just to be there when we make 1st contact. We will probably die with these questions it's very unlikely it will happen in our life time. It's sad to think humans will one day be capable of immortality but i won't be there to experience it. Good luck future humans and remember to be good.
