The Hepatopancreaticobiliary (HPB) Program is composed of a team of physicians, fellows, nurse practitioners and nurses who provide specialized care to patients with diseases of the liver, biliary tract and pancreas. Liver and pancreatic diseases are becoming increasingly complex and patients with these conditions face critical decisions. At Carolinas Medical Center, we provide comprehensive care with a multidisciplinary approach, allowing patients to benefit from the expertise of many specialists and support services.

Due to our surgical team's expertise, our patients benefit from the latest techniques and technologies in treating HPB disease, including interventional radiology, medical oncology, therapeutic endoscopy with EUS and ERCP and radiation therapy. Our physicians are fellowship-trained and nationally recognized for their experience in the use of minimally invasive approach to treatment. In fact, Carolinas Medical Center is one of only a handful of hospitals to utilize the da VinciĀ® Robotic System to treat pancreatic disease.
