This was recorded in a 1967 live performance, when nobody already did things like these in rock music: in this performance Jefferson Airplane mixed their traditional folk-rock inspirations with an amazing jazz sound, featuring astonishing guitarist Jorma Kaukonen, with his unmistakable gibson sound, unique bassist Jack Casady and jazzy drummer (RIP) Spencer Dryden.
incredible jam-out of the psychedelic song "The Ballad of You and Me and Pooneil"!

The title of this video was "One of the best guitar solos I've ever heard!" but then i changed it 'cause people actually don't like that kind of statements, and I understand that :D. anyway take this video as an advice, something like "in my opinion it's cool, if u don't know Jorma, check him out!"

here's my facebook profile if you wanna talk about music with me: http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100001479552377

  • this is great!!!

  • great .need to go drop a hit !! lol

  • @Kaitano94 wtf?

  • @keo774 Take out the "folk" "rock" "psychedelic" and leave jazz and you'll encounter a world of splendor and superior artistic expression that you wouldn't believe. Put down the joint and open your ears.

  • tit!

  • I like the hidden boob in this video

  • @MrGrevy yeah i like to read that kind of books (the ones that talk about what was happening in the bay area during the 60's) and i know that jerry was something like a "teacher" for jorma somehow, but i think that jorma created some masterpieces on acoustic guitar, while jerry actually didn't. i also know that jerry created many electric guitar masterpieces, and i also respect him very much. cmmon quah is probably the greatest album of all time :D

  • @keo774 Sorry, but you're just wrong on that one. Garcia was certainly a superior musician and Jorma knew that. Garcia helped him out by sitting in with him and giving him direction. This is supported by the history of the time. Garcia was also one of the best banjo pickers in his prime. You really need to read some books. I'd be happy to recommend some.
