And why you are so angry that we call it the Arabian Gulf , this Gulf is not a own by Iran or the persians people so to insist on the name Persian Gulf and take monopoly on the name . There are 7 Arab countries on the Gulf and we have the right to call it the Arabian Gulf. Call it the Persian Gulf we don't care but don't expect us to call it the Persian Gulf

Persian Gulf is a misnomer and that is why many of the news media and other institutions like national geographic and othe realize this misnomer and started using the correct name the" Gulf "or the "Arabian Gulf" . In regard of history , well not everything recorded in history books make it correct . And depending on which history books you are reading , some history books name the Gulf as the Gulf of Basra or the Gulf of Bahrain or the Gulf of Gattif and other.
