Just a heads up, as long as you are in VFO and set all settings you want to have for the Freq you want to save before you save to mem ch, all the setting will be saved with it, +- Repeater offset, Pwr lvl, CTCSS , and so on, you can also in CH alter these settings but as soon as you change ch or pwr off/on the unit it will revert back to the saved setting.

Where this motherfocker from? His English is worse than Chinese people speak English. He is perhaps from Canada. Geez what a crap! Better he get lost from YOUTUBE. He cannot pronounce the words. apparently he did not hear the real English. Fucking guy. Listen to his lexicon. His English is also weak. Noticed how many time he said the word PRETTY.

@jeep4jeep yes of course, any ham radio can do that
Yes, this radio is FCC approved. The PTT switch is not a rocker switch however, so it will only transmit on the main frequency and receive on the secondary when you have it set on dual band operation. And I have not tried programming it yet since the software is only available for PCs and not Macs, but the programming cable and free software download are available on Quansheng's website.

whats the range on that hand held ? 6- 10 miles?
ryanperry90 1 year ago
@ryanperry90 It depends on your transmitting location. Generally, you should be able to get reliable simplex communication for about 6-10 miles between portables with no obstructions, but I am able to access repeaters that are 30 miles away from my house, which is on top of a ridge. The antenna that comes with it is 7" and has about 2.5db gain, but if you upgrade to a larger whip antenna you should be able to get nearly 4db gain, which will greatly increase your simplex operation capability.
