Minecraft: Nether Lab Alpha

I've gone and done it now. In a fit of scientific hubris I've built a research lab in the Nether. From inside, one can safely study the Nether organisms without risking injury, as the Ghast are mysteriously unable to see through glass. The lab is modest for now, but it will slowly expand just as the deep trench city did. Speaking of which it's accessible from the deep trench city's portal sphere, and on the return trip for some reason it sends you to the portal in the smaller of the two space stations. Because of this I was able to destroy the 'space elevator' ladder dealie leading up to it, and it now floats freely above the clouds as intended. Next task is to find someplace in the giant toroidal space colony for a portal and figure out how to link it to one in Nether Lab Alpha, so I can get anywhere I need to using the portal system.

I an working on a nether lab right now. When it is done it will be 100% self sufficent. But i have a little problem: wheat isnt growing, and i dont want to have to hack in grass to get pigs and cows for food. Any tips for growing wheat in the nether?

Hey Zamboro, YOu REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY should install the finite liquid mod. Trust me it'll go really well with your underwater colony since the water is much more realistic. There is also a real danger of the colony getting flooded however if someone is to breach the colony
