Because all government services and infrastructure result in increasing land values why is it not relevant to ask why these values are not taxed to pay for the services and infrastructure. This is especially relevant because leaving these values in the hands of private owners is the sole motivation for all real estate, i.e land, speculation and for all environmental abuse. Let people own land for USE and require payment to the public fisc what amounts to its rental value every year.

Any money handed out as "stimulus" IS money going back to waste. This woman farts in wine glasses and smells it, I am sure of this. I agree that we need to spend our money at HOME, but a stimulus package/INFLATION, is not the answer. After Katrina, the government came in and helped landlords, and tenants with expenses. Sounds good, but look now, the cost of rent in N.O. went up 60%. Almost every time the government comes to "help" they end up hurting. Obama stands for the big banks, not you or I
