This is "Stomper", a hexapod walking robot I built awhile ago from plans in Karl William's book "Insectronics". It uses 3 model airplane servo's, a 16F84A microcontroller, and an ultrasonic rangefinder to walk around. More about Stomper at http://letsmakerobots.com/node/4947

  • Cost is about $150 US if all the parts a purchased. I built it in about a week (on and off - not the whole week). No remote control (though it would be possible). It is autonomous, it scans the room, turns and walks toward the largest area it sees. After about 20 seconds of walking, it pauses and scans the room again... and so on...

  • Hang on, got it, youre using a parallel linkage between the legs - nice work

  • You say it's a 3 servo walker, but I can see 5 - one on each leg front and back, and one tilting the legs in the middle - am I missing something?

also, what's the motor sequence you're using?
