another point is that it should only really be forwards who use pop passes, they are quick and effective, as you are usually no further than a couple of metres away from your teamate. backs should only use it when they are playing against a tight defense who are all charging up simultaneiously. hope this helped, because i know that video doesn't. If you need any other rugby tips dont hesistate to send me a message

or if you are holding it like they are in your finger tips- it can get simply punched out of your hands. The whole idea of a pop pass is to be Extremely quick ! no matter how you catch the ball you want to throw it immediatley so dont bother trying to ajust your grip. adjusting your grip on a ball looses time and momentum. also try flicking your wrists when you throw like your just shoveling the ball to the player beside you.

First of all ignore everything you just saw in the video. you dont want to through it up like that, because in a competitive game the opposition can easily intercept the pass.

Yeah you think they would say when a good time to do a pop pass is, Grillaver's comment below is more informative than this entire clip. Should show how to draw the tackle and actually have the person running onto the pass, a pop pass should be popped up as you are hitting it at speed and should land on your chest. The pass should not be down around your knees like they are showing in this vid
