OS X Lion officially launched this morning, and our own Jon Rettinger has already downloaded the update and started checking it out -- starting with Mission Control.

Mission Control is a new feature in Lion that gives you a birds-eye view of everything running on your system. The feature allows you to essentially "zoom out" on your computer, and then switch between different apps and programs currently running on your machine.

1:10 "you can see all you opened application. Hey! I don't have any" REALLY? I see a bunch of apps opened on your dock. Why weren't they showing? Because they were minimized? Why won't it show minimized windows? And how do you see all your minimized windows?

See. I find it okay. It could be better, but the integration of spaces with expose actually works quite well, and is relatively useful, although I think it still needs a bit more refinement.

I've played with mission control it's a bit messy for my liking. It's been binned off my dock until it improves or I bother to find out if I have a use for it.

So not a hit for me.

I do like the drag to desk top feature in spotlight and the select a bunch of documents etc on the desktop and drop them into a new folder.

yep I'm OCD about keeping the desktop tidy ;)

Mission Control is a complete failure. The biggest problem with it is that it groups windows together within an application. Fanning them out only reveals SLIGHTLY more than what you can already see but doesnt give you enough to know exactly which window to open.

Apple could easily fix Mission Control if they werent so psychotic about the denial of the word choice/options. Give users some options in System Preferences to adjust Mission Control to THEIR liking and the entire problem is SOLVED.
