My dad loved these cars but he could never afford to buy one so he bought a Dodge instead.

My first car in 1971 was a hand-me-down 1963 Chrysler Newport. It had a 318 V8 and was so smooth to drive with the pushbutton control. Mine was desert tan and had air conditioning, power seats and cruise control. It had been my mother's car and she hated to give it up but my dad bought her a 1970 Olds Delta 88 used and gave me the Chrysler. I had 68K miles on it and I drove it for 2 years and it never gave any trouble!

The 50s and 60s were when cars had real individual styling. Nowadays, so many cars look alike.

FYI The conv. pace car is not a 300 letter series car. it was called the pace setter

Economical, in a good way, that is.
Ever since 1980, things started going wrong.

My dad has a Newport that looks exactly like the one in the video. I usually put 100 miles on it every summer. Really turns some heads.

I had one of these a white hardtop two door with the leather buckest seats and square steering wheel and pushbutton
transmission. I loved that car.
I think most automobile manufacturers could learn a thing or two from such cars as these. Such as interior room and a smooth ride.

Yeah, its a trip. My grandparents have a pair of '64 Chrysler 300s and they have SQUARED steering wheels, pushbutton transmissions, and all sorts of oddities to them! Neat machines for sure.
