BJK Productions presents its latest video on sliders and slalomers from Team SEBA & Team Freestyle Singapore.
[ABOUT]
Over the past half-decade, skaters from all over the country have been coming together to learn, enjoy and compete in freestyle slide/slalom skating.
Freestyle skating is a fairly new discipline in the world of skating. In Singapore alone, the sport was pioneered just under a decade ago. Its former existence was diminutive, but has rapidly grown and influenced many skaters over the past few years through the efforts of many people.
Freestyle skating is fast gaining popularity among many schools, institutes and even the public. It is a highly technical discipline of skating, often regarded by many as one comparable to that of professional figure skating.
At present, Singapore comprises a small, yet elite group of slalomers/sliders, forming the core of the freestyle skating scene.
More notably are the members of Team SEBA & Team Freestyle Singapore, which consist of international-standard skaters who continually compete on a world-class level, such as at the annual World Freestyle Skating Championships (2010) in JeonJu, Korea where our local skaters clinched top positions.
Together with both teams in the forefront, dedicated and passionate skaters are continually striving to extend and expand their reach towards other skaters across the country, and further build up the skating community.
Training by themselves (coach-less) regularly at their home-ground Sembawang Mega Court, *SCAPE, Esplanade underpass and even various multi-storey car parks in event of bad weather, the freestyle skaters of Singapore are definitely doing whatever it takes to place Singapore on the map, in a whole new world of freestyle skating.

Hi! greetings from Costa Rica, I'm just a noob, but really love to skate. You are amazing people. What kind of wheels do you use? I use 76mm 89a, Is it ok?

It's fine to use wheels ranging from 72mm, 76mm and even 80mm. Hardness isn't really an issue when you're just starting out. They only begin to matter when you start to do high-level tricks like on one-wheel spins and wheeling etc. At the end of the day it's up to personal preference. Some skaters prefer harder wheels, some prefer softer (:
Although, you might want to "rocker" your skates.
Meaning your wheel set-up is like 72-76-76-72 or 76-80-80-76. Makes it easier to slalom! =D
